Academic and Wellness Planner

As a director of many productions, I feel like it is my responsibility to lead my students through goal setting activities in preparation for technical/performance week.

Especially for students who are new to performances and productions, it’s important to be clear about not only the physical time demands, but the emotion and energy it takes to move a show from a studio space to a performance venue.

Below is the Academic and Wellness Planner that I use with my students in order for them to balance out their schedules before the demands of tech week/performances become realities.

There are multiple download formats to adapt the planner to your own performance/production needs.

Tips For Using This Planner:

When you introduce the planner to your students, explain that it isn’t only about keeping up with academics, but with keeping up with wellness.

Communicate with the students when an appropriate time would be talk to their teachers and support/caring adults about developing an action plan.

Share with your colleagues and parental/guardian community the planner and invite them to engage in conversations with the students around curriculum material.

Be flexible with due dates as sometimes colleagues are away and/or need some time to answer the students’ questions.

Make sure to follow-up with the students regarding their action plans.
