Thought Tracker | Using Questioning To Track Critical Responses To Live Performance

Ever want to track the critical thinking in the moments when students are engaging in a live performance? Whether you're working with YouTube, movies or going to see a live production, this handout/worksheet gives student friendly prompts to track their critical and creative thinking.

Designed for the theatre arts classroom with a rubric based on Ontario Curriculum expectations, this handout can be adapted to fit all classroom environments.

The original activity that I used was:

  • guest artist from production came into the class and held workshop

  • students went to the live performance of a play

  • guest artist came back to the classroom to deconstruct the play and make connections to the students' upcoming work
